AIRWAYS FREIGHT CORPORATION ANNOUNCES PROMOTIONS FOR TOP EXECS.
Dangerous Goods Training Completed
Airways Freight Operations personnel have recently undergone rigorous re-certification
training to maintain 100% compliance with IATA Dangerous Goods standards.
For many
years, Airways has maintained that all operations personnel on staff must be certified
in HAZMAT packaging and shipping requirements for all cargo moving by air or ground.
Training was completed in early January, 2011 to achieve this goal. In addition,
selected personnel have undergone training for certifications in radioactive, and
infectious substances.
For ocean freight, International Maritime Dangerous Goods
Training was administered to applicable personnel.

service skills unmatched anywhere - an absolute necessity when moving cargo of the

with a commuter airline before joining Airways, it can be said that air freight
is definitely in his blood. We wish Devin, his wife Cindy, and his three daughters
many happy returns on accomplishing this career milestone, and look forward to many
more in the future.

Devin Scroggins Hits 20-year Mark
Fayetteville, Arkansas - Effective December 5, 2010,
Dale Caudle, the Chairman and CEO of Airways Freight Corporation announced that
he would be stepping down from his position as CEO and retaining the title of Chairman
of the Board. Mr. Caudle has appointed former Airways President, Ken Center, to
the position of Chief Executive Officer, and Executive Vice President, Denny Wood
has become the new President. Ken Center joined Airways in 1989, holding the title
of President since 1992, and leading the company during its most significant growth
to date. A talented promoter, Mr. Center will continue to explore new opportunities
for the corporation through agent acquisition and key partnerships. Beginning his
career with Airways Freight in 1986, Denny Wood has been a consistent and effective
driving force for the company almost since the beginning. As the first Director
of Tradeshow operations, Denny took responsibility for developing and guiding this
highly specialized shipping niche, and molding it into a top force within the industry.
Mr. Wood will continue to monitor day-to-day operations, administrate and mentor
middle management in their supervisory roles, and promote the Airways image in all
aspects. Although continuing an active participation in the business, Mr. Caudle
stated, “I am confident that the leadership we have put in place will uphold equally
high standards to those we have worked so hard to achieve over the last 30 years
of our history.”
Airways Freight is a privately held, non-asset based freight forwarder,
headquartered in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
20-Year Service Award Given
Twenty years of individual service to a company is an accomplishment by any standard,
but when nearly 20 percent of a firm’s staff and management have reached that mark,
it is a testament also to the company’s commitment to its people.
On December 4,
Suzanne Daily-Lencowski and Brad Watson were ushered in as the most recently honored
members of the growing 20-year service award club. Suzanne was initially hired for
an accounting position, but soon became the first woman at Airways to manage an
operations desk. In a male-dominated profession, it is universally agreed that Suzanne
can “hold her own” with the best logistics people in the business. As a tradeshow
operator, the cargo can have unforgiving timeframes and unusual pickup and delivery
requirements, to say the least. Industry know-how is an absolute essential. Suzanne
navigates the potential pitfalls, and with apparent ease, she consistently keeps
the customers and sales agents happy and feeling secure when she is handling their
shipments.
20 years ago, the Airways “international department” was an outgrowth of the domestic
divisions, offering little in the way of services, and was loosely administrated
as a part time project from a small alcove next to the weight scales. From the time
Brad Watson was tasked with the responsibility to develop Airways as a true international
forwarder, he has worked tirelessly to that end with marked success. Under Brad’s
leadership, Airways has become proficient in all areas of international transportation,
including air cargo, import/export documentary requirements, and development of
an offshore partner network. In his quest for added services, Brad has helped guide
the evolution of Airways from a domestic forwarder to a fully integrated air/ocean
forwarder and customs broker. Brad Watson, and his team of highly experienced staff
have become experts in turn-key services for international trade show services,
both for overseas firms attending US exhibitions, but also for US based companies
promoting their goods and services all over the world.
Congratulations to Suzanne and Brad!
Secondary education scholarship applications for the 2011/2012 academic year are
